Seeking Adventure

There are many programs and events to come according the counselor Flancia, but that would not be possible without the cooperation of the whole community.

Barangay IX of Lucena City is found near Perez Park and Tong Ho Institute. It is a wide range of community that is known for having its “Sabadista Church” as their main church for the Barangay.

As we visit the Community of Barangay IX, we interviewed its Barangay Counselor, Mrs. Filipina Flancia. The counselor talked about different events and projects of the said barangay for different issues and community services.

One of the projects is the Cleaning program that is made for the preservation of the cleanliness and harmony of the community and the environment.

This also includes the Flood risk prevention program that aims to protect the community from any disaster specially floods that would possibly affect their barangay.

And since the said barangay have low land compared to the other barangays, this is the best solution to inform the public about the said matter.

Regarding with the teenagers, she said that they are also included in some of their events that is particularly sports, these includes basketball and chess.

But the Drug rehabilitation program was the program that the barangay prioritized the most, it aims to encourage drug users to surrender and undergo rehabilitation.

She also included that due to the said program, they are already able to have 60 persons that have surrendered and undergo rehabilitation.
